I rarely read books about spirituality but this book was recommended to me during a time of struggle. The author made the topic of struggle and hope easy to understand, to follow her explanation of the bind between the two, without losing me in theory. I would recommend this audiobook. Its such a welcome change from other weightloss approaches.

The focus is not on self-discipline, but rather self acceptance as well as changing the role that food plays in one's life.

What does the narrator bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

The guided meditations and self-hypnosis sessions are provided in the audiobook. They are easy to access.

I am pretty annoyed by the narrator. She is very specific about certain sounds, and it stops me from getting lost in what she is saying every time.

pretty good but somewhat annoying

This book involves the use of self hypnosis and mindfulness meditation for weight loss. The techniques are good, but I found Ms. Fain's reading really annoying. I'm sorry, I wanted to like it but I just couldn't finish the audible version.

would have liked a few more stories by professionals with their trials and tribulations. but overall, it's a great book to listen to while running. But the narration was just average.

Enjoyable

I downloaded this as a bit of motivation for me in the last taper week before my first marathon. I listed to it in the car each morning on the way to work, and for the most part I really enjoyed it. Some of the stories are better and more rounded than others, but each is inspiring in its own way. It's probably not for everyone, but I enjoyed it.

comforting and practical read for grieving widows/widowers

someone recommended this book to me after my husband died (at age 56.) it has short chapters, (which is about all one can handle when grieving) filled w/scripture that is both comforting and meaningful. it is not "over the top" religious.
