Releasing the Hidden Power of Insight (Emphasis Directed to changing Corporate Management Decision Making)

It's tough changing behavior and this book attempts to do just that. As a corporate trainer, I am familiar with the usual fact-based, analytical approaches to problem solving taught in boardrooms throughout the world. Here Kiefer is changing the game by directing attention to your subconscious, intuitive mental processes in order to add creative spice to decision making. The goal is to stimulate creative, innovative outcomes rather than analyze situations to somnambulistic, rational dead ends. This is very much a "self-help" type of book where exercises are offered to the reader to help them drift away from the conscious, chattering brain to awaken the all too often slumbering subconscious. I applaud the effort to do this while at the same time note a somewhat mind numbing repetition within the 170 pages that, despite many anecdotes, can at times, seem to belabor the few points being made. That criticism is a bit unfair because repetition is a way to connect to the subconscious where behavioral changes in the reader are being sought. Several days after finishing the book, I noted a persistent nagging presence of the book's message almost subliminally reminding me to release the intuition normally closeted beneath the surface. This is not like a novel to be read through once and then set aside.

Wonderful Book On The Depth Of God's Love

Denise Lorenz wrote a wonderful book about who

God is. In one word, that is Love. If you think that

God doesn't love you because of your past or how

you live-think again! Denise sets the record straight.

She starts out by letting you know that this isn't

going to be the same old, same old type of

Christian book. She delves deeper into what his

love is really like.

In the introduction, she tells you her story. It is

interesting as well as a teaching experience to

others about having a closer relationship with God.

The way the book is set up is nice. It's like a daily

devotional. I would say new Christians, people

who are finding the road back to God, and those

who don't know him at all should read it. It will

definitely open your eyes.

There are also questions at the end of every

chapter which would make it perfect for groups

to get together and discuss. To me, this book

is an equivalent to the teachings of Joel Osteen

and Cyndi Trimm. It's uplifing, positive and

easy to understand.

Thought provoking and relevant

I appreciated this presentation of the heart of God for His people. The devotionals were relevant and enlightening and set the stage for introspective thought, thanksgiving, and prayer. Well done

The love worth knowing is God's LOVE.

The information is very good, but it was an adjustment with the narrator's English accent. After a while it became easier but you can miss things because of it if not careful.

Very engaging audio narration with music and all. I could do with out the religious comments, and some other poor stories. Seems like the last reviewer didn't "listen" to this title.

What a lovely book - Are the Angels really around?

I enjoyed this book, but still I wonder why only a handful of people are able to see these angels. Fascinating to think that we have this kind of support in our lives, but as long as most of us isn't able to perceive these creatures of light I guess it easily could be a figment of one's imagination. Let's just hope it isn't so. I guess Lorna is convinced that they are real. She told a fascinating story. Perhaps we all will know for sure one day?

A very uplifting, spiritual & calming book

I have been searching for an audiobook about the help that angels give us & our loved ones, if we but only ask them. I have always known this & it was lovely to hear Laura reading her book with such a conviction, love & sincerity. I have been through several serious injuries & illnesses in the last 3yrs & received positive proof of the existance of my Guardian Angel, if i had ever doubted it [which i did wonder about occasionally]. I have recently become severely visually disabled & i will be undergoing surgery on 16th & 19th April, so i hope some sight will be restored. If this is not the case i am delighted to know that i can hear Laura's comforting words, whenever i need some support & reassurance. Many thanks, Tricia McNicholas.

Angelic Hope

This is a very nice audiobook full of angelic inspiration.

I loved the actor's warm Irish toned narration and felt captivated by the unfolding story the whole time - I just wanted to keep listening.

It made a lovely change for me to hear Lorna Byrne's perspective and how angels most certainly can help us in any area of our life. I'll definitely be listening to more of her audiobooks.

A beautiful reminder from the angels to never give up hope, thank you!

Hope and faith

I love books from Lorna, so simple and easy...she has definitely given me more faith and prayer in life. And thus I am a happier person! I love and learned to listen more to my intuition...or is it one of the many angles whispering into my ear that certainly are around me and my loved ones!

well written concise explanation of the works of mercy

Mark Shea has got to be one of my favorite writers these days. His witticism comes through in this. However, this is one of the underrated traditions in our Church today. While traditionalists are clamoring for a more reverent liturgy at the loss of charity to their brothers, progressives are doing just the opposite. According to our Pope, they must go together. That is how the world will judge the authenticity of our Eucharistic celebrations, by how much we love one another, and others. The Works of Mercy are simple ways of going about that, and Shea is helpful in explaining them with a touch of wit and research. It is not necessarily a how to, as much to reawaken the tradition, and I think it would be effective if we got the word out.

Love this book

A disappointment

I am reading this as part of a reading group whose members belong to the Social Justice Commission at our parish. We voted on which title to read this summer. I voted for this book, based on enthusiastic endorsements and comments to the effect that Mr. Shea goes into the scriptural basis, spiritual foundation and history of the works of mercy in the Catholic tradition. I find instead that these subjects get short shrift--not much more than cursory treatment. The author gives nearly equal emphasis to topics such as differentiating between the Evangelical and the Roman Catholic understandings of the basis of salvation. The text is peppered with brief mentions of various sins of our culture, which Shea fails to develop in any substantive way. For example, he mentions "our euthanasia culture," but leaves it at that. He apparently assumes that the reader knows what he means by the phrase. My complaint is not that he doesn't explain it--it's that he mentions it in the first place. What I would have preferred is that he touch on fewer topics, and develop them more fully, drawing on the deep reservoir of Catholic teaching and history on the works of mercy. The book need not have been a long one in order to do that.

The rich, distinctive spirituality of the Catholic tradition doesn't come through in Shea's writing. I give it two stars because there is some meaningful substance there, but it takes some work to get around the rest of it. That's why I find this title a disappointment.
