She joined the Pennsylvania National Guard after high school, taking advantage of their college payback program to pursue higher education. Through Officer Candidate School, she achieved her dream of becoming an officer. Lisa's assignments ranged from Fort Lewis, Washington to jump school at Fort Benning, where she faced the unique experience of being one of the few women in a class of 400.
