For this episode, I was joined by the brilliant singer-songwriter Charity Stow. From playing her first shows performing covers to a few friendly faces, to releasing singles and recording an upcoming EP - Charity continues to progress with her musical journey. Join us for this chill chat as dive deeper into her creative processes, how social media can be good (but also bad) and also some wholesome advice for future musicians.
It's a very different episode this week as I'm speaking to Lauren who I met on Reddit after reading about her unbelievable and heartbreaking story. Lauren joined me to discuss a period in her life where she was classified as a 'missing person' after running away from an abusive household. If you or anyone you know may be involved in similar circumstances we speak about in this episode, please use the links below for support.

Let's talk Pokemon! My best boy Josh joins me to discuss one of his favourite game franchises of all time and we literally talk about Pokemon for an entire hour. Our favourites, our gym leader personas, our special memories and more. Getting By will now be coming out on Thursdays - keep an eye out.
We're back after a week off! This time my guest is the fantastic Ruby Smith from Country-Shoegaze band: The Glitter Shop. We go pretty deep into the capitalist system, feminism within the industry and loads more. Had quite a lot of technical issues with this one, but I think it turned out okay? Oh well - enjoy!
Another week - another podcast episode! The delightful Nathan Apps (from Leeds-based band Askies) came by to have a little chat about music and life stuff. We spoke about lockdown creativity, songwriting within a band and also I low-key fan girl because I really like Askies. Check them out!
No podcast next week because I'm having a little break, but we'll be back the week after... See ya!
Had a lovely chat with dream-folk duo Sunflower Thieves, consisting of Amy Illingworth and Lily Sturt-Bolshaw. We spoke about their new music, how to adapt your songwriting methods within a pandemic and I even tested their sunflower knowledge towards the end. Their new single, Don't Mind The Weather, is out Friday 26th February and you should 100% go listen to it.
It's a new series! Trying a new thing with one of my best mates, Josh Huggard, where we have a super chill chat about films, tv shows and games. This time we spoke about a horror film renaissance, Studio Ghibli drama, Star Wars rankings and some Marvel predictions. More interviews to come in the future, but expect more Josh episodes to pop up now and then. (Also sorry we talk over each other a lot - had some latency issues during recording).
Indie pop artist WAX WORKS (Adam Levey) joins me on this week's episode of Getting By. Had a wonderful chat about music influences, East Anglia music scenes and what its like to start a brand new solo project. Lots of exciting things are coming from WAX WORKS and he's definitely one to keep your eye on going into the future.
And just like that, February has began! On this episode I had the pleasure of 'Zoom'-ing my old Leeds-based band 'Ahoi'. We pondered on our musical upbringings, how we're getting through a pandemic and finish strong with some loving words of wisdom from four music-school graduates. 'Ahoi' consists of Simon Johnson, Christian Garland and Luke Yeomans. Big love!
This week I was joined by the fantastic Hal Keys-Holloway from Manchester-based band 'Strange Sun' and newly formed solo project 'Sunshine Boy'. Both projects see Hal creating lush/psychedelic sounds, but how exactly are they made? What is it like being in a performance-based band? How do musicians remain positive during lockdown?! Check out this episode and all your questions will be answered.
