Adversity is part of life. 

It’s easy to get caught up in the self pity, unfairness of life, or the many 'why me?' traps. 

The moment we learn to let go of self-defeating and unproductive thoughts, we are able to get down to the business of dealing with what's before us. 

In this episode, I interview Jacquelyn Nicholson who shares her personal story of overcoming her own personal adversity. There are many inspiring stories of people, just like Jacquelyn,  who overcame seemingly insurmountable odds. So can you!

Challenges and obstacles are a fact of life. Instead of wishing something was different, I challenge you to become someone different. 

If you set a goal and it’s really important, don’t let false and limiting beliefs hold you back. On the surface, it may be inconvenient to block time to work on the things that matter but trust me, afterwards, you will be glad you did.

A shared vision creates a common purpose. If you and your team identify each other and your business in a new way and the new way becomes the standard on how the team operates, anything becomes possible.

Everything you do has a ripple effect–both effective and ineffective. 

You will never be able to please everyone.  If fact, most of the time if you are doing anything of value, you will encounter opposition. Someone is NOT going to like what you are doing and they may even criticize you. 

It’s not your job to defend yourself or change other people. Your job is to show up as the best version of yourself--this becomes a lot easier when you learn to NOT take things personally.

There are no excuses—only choices.

You make a choice, and either it works or it doesn’t get the results you want—either way you made a choice.

The only thing standing between you and what you desire are the crazy stories you keep telling yourself as to why you cannot achieve something.
