Kinda boring. I expected it to be more interesting.

Light, Witty, Moving

This book really speaks to the soul in a witty and moving way. It allows one to really examine life and make changes that will move you to a much more positive and compassionate way of being. Just the reminder that we sometimes need to motivate us to do the things we fear but will bring us the most joy. Great book for the coffee table or desk top, flip the pages and get inspired and buy a copy to give as a gift - the recipient will be glad you did!

Helpful Advice for Youth

This book is filled with practical and spiritual info to help young people plan wisely for their futures. It would be good as a discussion resource for a class study. I don't totally agree with everything, and it could use better editing, but it certainly has enough beneficial material for me to recommend it as a resource.

Directed towards young people, but could be used by anyone

This book is for any person, young or old, who has not quite envisioned what they want to do with their life when they grow up. It is for the person, young or old, who is stuck in a rut either in life or in their Christian walk. There are questions in the back that go with each chapter and it could be a good and life-informing book for either self-study or as a group, such as a young adult Bible study, even a college dorm Bible study group would find this book worth their time.

Each chapter starts with an Imagine statement that frames additional Imagine statements throughout the chapters. The main Imagine statement is broken down into smaller, more refined statements to get the reader to think even deeper on a topic.

It's a must read for anyone within the ages of 15-30.

Brownell tells the reader what it takes to be a success in business, in marriage, in life. The words read more like fiction, interesting, captivating, unique. The author uses the imagine theme for each section; imagine you falling in love, imagine you as an older adult, imagine you achieving your dreams ... At the end of the book, Brownell asks questions from each chapter to test your comprehension and application for life. Part of the book reads like a Christian apologist, giving young people evidence for a belief in God.

One New Dude...

One New Dude is a straight forward contemporary lay theological explanation of a new and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ. The language, syntax and phraseology used in this book is very current and present day specific which will appeal to the youth of this modern generation. It immediately addresses our spiritual condition and how one can deal with that nature while coming to a new spiritual understanding through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is about His grace... a grace that changes one's mind and life.

The book begins by helping the reader come to a spiritual understanding of who they are today. Next it provides a road map with specific directions that leads the reader through a few deep theological concepts, i.e., justification, sanctification and glorification. As the author guides readers through this theological maze, very well I might add, the terms and concepts are well developed and explained while introducing basic theological applications for each reader to engage. Each chapter provides the reader with an opportunity to interact with the text, make notes all pointing toward direct and immediate application.

The hook for me was the contemporary approach this book takes in directing one straightforwardly to knowing Christ in a real and personal way. It is a very real and appealing religious and theological correct read for today's contemporary religiously pluralistic oriented society. I highly recommend this book and plan on using it as a tool in Evangelism endeavors.

Excellent Book on Transformation

Jeff Z has written an excellent book on transformation from a guilty sinner to Son of God. Few problems seem to cause more trouble in people's lives than not knowing their true identity. It makes believers vulnerable to the fiery darts of Satan's attacks as well as open to peer pressure from non-believing "friends." Knowing who a person is in Christ sets them free to be who God wants them to be and in fact made them to be.

This book is a must read for all young Christians. And is a valuable resource and encouragement to seasoned believers alike. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone who wants to know who they are in Christ and how to live a victorious Christian life.

The book is well written, easy to read and nurtured something deep inside that resulted in the oozing out of a smile from the inside out. That was my experience! Real Science

I recently purchased a new copy of this book through Amazon (Aug 2013) I got a great deal and appreciate the quick shipping. I have owned many copies of Dianetics and was in need of a fresh copy to mark up with my highlighter. I don't think I have enough time to discuss all the things I love about this book. It got me involved in a new way of life and has provided me a partial solution to my temper. This book will help anyone trying to improve themselves by explaining our thought process and the root cause of mental distress. L Ron also ties in new tools related to communication. This is a great first book on the subject of the mind. I can easily say that this book has saved my life and I would recomend it to everyone.
