Keefy caught up with Joseph E. Martinez, co-founder, lead vocalist, and guitarist of Boston post-metal band Junius, to discuss the band's fourth studio album Sotera, released June 26, 2026, through Prosthetic Records. Joseph breaks down what it meant to return with a full-length nearly a decade after 2017's Eternal Rituals for the Accretion of Light, and how Sotera marks a significant thematic shift away from the band's previous focus on cataclysms and the afterlife toward exploring the divine feminine as a force for balance and transformation.

Formed in 2003, Junius have built their reputation on blending heavy atmospheric post-metal with shoegaze and alternative rock. Sotera is their heaviest record to date and one of the most anticipated post-metal releases of 2026.

Keefy caught up with Kevin Comeau of Crown Lands, the award-winning Canadian progressive rock duo from Oshawa, Ontario, to discuss the band's ambitious new album "Apocalypse," released May 15, 2026, through InsideOut Music. Kevin breaks down the making of the record, including its centerpiece nineteen-minute multi-part title suite, standout tracks "Through the Looking Glass" and "Blackstar," and how the album expands the cosmic narrative universe first introduced on their 2023 record "Fearless."

Apocalypse sees Crown Lands join forces with legendary producers Nick Raskulinecz and David Bottrill, both celebrated for their foundational work with Rush. The contrasting production styles pushed Cody Bowles and Kevin Comeau to craft their most structurally complex and unified record yet, weaving themes of Indigenous resistance, environmental awareness, and anti-colonialism into an epic sci-fi and political mythology.

Keefy caught up with Travis, Stephen, and Nick of Tucson, Arizona melodic death metal outfit Wyrmhaven to discuss the band's debut full-length, Seasons of Gloom, released May 29, 2026, independently. Written during a period of significant loss and perseverance, the record balances dark aggression with personal vulnerability, drawing on the band's deep reverence for metalcore's early days while pushing further into melodic death metal territory.

Seasons of Gloom was produced by the band and Ryan Bram, known for his work with Gatecreeper, Spirit Adrift, and Terminal Nation, engineered by Bram, and mixed and mastered by Zack Ohren, whose credits include Machine Head, Fallujah, Entheos, and All Shall Perish. Cover art comes courtesy of Adam Burke of Nightjar Illustrations. The record is available on limited edition vinyl and digitally through the Wyrmhaven Bandcamp page.

Ojayy caught up with Gus Rios, the mastermind behind last year's G.I. Joe Cold Slither record, to discuss his latest project with Knights of Unicron: The Transformers: The Movie: The Soundtrack: The Reformatted Edition, out July 24, 2026, through Hasbro Music and Reigning Phoenix Music. Gus breaks down how Knights of Unicron, comprised of himself, Matt Harvey, and Ross Sewage, rebuilt the iconic 1986 animated movie soundtrack from the ground up to deliver a heavier, sharper, and more powerful sonic experience for the fortieth anniversary.

The Reformatted Edition features an all-star lineup of guest performers and lifelong Transformers fans, including Stan Bush and Vince DiCola, Sebastian Bach, Mark Osegueda of Deah Angel, Francesco Cavalieri of Wind Rose, Brittney Slayes of Unleash the Archers, and Cold Slither's own Torch. The album was produced and engineered by Matt LaPlant, mixed and mastered by Zeuss, and recorded at Ripper's Lair. Cover artwork and design are by Matt Ferguson.
