Haunt Season is officially over! Everyone recaps their Halloween night. Ashley is already being a grinch and the gang considers excommunicating Alexz for saying Christmas is her favorite holiday. Alexz and Ashley watched the new Suspiria remake and thought “wtf did we just watch?” (Low key, Ash kinda liked it). Will started watching Byzantium, and Jeanette watched Goosebumps 2.

Our main topic is ghooooostss! Ashley presents some theories from both sides of the aisle about the existence (or lack thereof) of ghostly apparitions, and we each regaled our personal scary spectre stories involving ouija boards, haunted houses, abandoned hospitals, and creepy dolls as well as a couple listener submissions!

The main topic for this week’s conjuring is the horror trope: final girls. The gang talks about the history, qualities, and evolution of their favorite final girls of genre. Would any of us actually make it to the end of a horror movie and be the final girl? Before that discussion, Will recaps his weekend in Boston and explains “grave rubbing”; Alexz tales her (early) Halloween party; and Ashley makes treats inspired by The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell. Ashley is excited about the new trailer that was dropped for the upcoming 3rd season of True Detective along with more plot details, and have you seen the new Pet Sematary trailer? We have, and we have opinions. We also binged the “This Is Us” of horror, Mike Flanagan’s Haunting of Hill House on Netflix and we are on some Nell realness as we discuss nightmares and night terrors.

It's not just a genre, it's a lifestyle! This week, the Ghouls endearingly have a conversation about all of the bands that influenced their own spooky aesthetics, in life and musical taste. But before they get into that discussion, Jeanette, Ashley, and Alexz briefly recap their Los Angeles and New Orleans trips. Then there is some collective apprehension toward the Charmed remake, but everyone is definitely looking forward to watching The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Eli Roth’s History of Horror, Ashley raves about how much she loved Maniac and Jeanette cried watching A Quiet Place on a plane. Also, Will is very into Kim Petras’s new EP, Jeanette previews Kylie Jenner’s Halloween makeup collection, and Ashley relays what the CEO of Match.com says the top three dating questions that can predict what can make or break a relationship are.
