Tunnel vision can be dangerous in leadership.
When we become so focused on the win, the goal, or proving that our original plan will work, we can miss something far more important: the outcome and the people involved.
In this episode of the GHRITS Podcast, Mindy Brown talks about the importance of knowing when to push forward, when to pivot, when to wait, and when the wisest answer may simply be no.
Sometimes the mission stays the same, but the strategy has to change.
Great leadership requires wisdom, humility, discernment, and the courage to protect people—even when that means changing direction.
Because leadership is not about winning at all costs. It is about leaving people better than you found them and creating an impact that matters.
Don’t become so committed to the win that you become blind to the outcome.

Fall: Proof That Change Can Be a Beautiful Thing
Fall reminds us that change doesn’t always have to be something we fear.
The leaves change. The air gets cooler. Football returns, bonfires are burning, hoodies come back out, and we begin moving toward a season filled with family, traditions, and memories.
But fall can also remind us of something deeper: we can turn over a new leaf too.
Just because you’ve done something a certain way in the past doesn’t mean you have to keep doing it. You can make a different choice. You can grow. You can begin again.
You can change tomorrow by changing something today.
In this episode of the GHRITS Podcast, Mindy talks about embracing change, letting go of what no longer belongs in your next season, focusing on what matters, loving people well, and remembering that it is always the right time to do the right thing.
Sometimes change isn’t the ending.
Sometimes it’s the beginning of something beautiful.

Are We Paying Attention?
From what I’ve seen around the funeral home business, there are times when death calls seem to come one after another—and it makes you stop, think, and ask questions.
In this episode of the GHRITS Podcast, we explore the rapid growth of artificial intelligence and technology, the importance of human oversight, and why asking responsible questions matters when technology touches healthcare, transportation, safety, and human life.
This isn’t about fear, and it isn’t about claiming AI is causing more deaths. It’s about awareness, discernment, accountability, and having the courage to pay attention.
Technology should serve humanity—not replace our judgment, compassion, or responsibility to one another.
Most importantly, this episode is a reminder that life is precious. Make the call. Forgive. Love your people. Make the memories. And don’t wait for someday to start living.
Gratitude. Hope. Resilience. Intuition. Tenacity. Significance.

What If It All Works Out?
We spend so much time asking, “What if it goes wrong?”
What if I fail?
What if they reject me?
What if the door never opens?
What if things don’t change?
But what if we asked a different question?
What if it all works out?
In this episode of the GHRITS Podcast, Mindy Brown talks about choosing hope over fear, trusting God when you can’t see the outcome, and having the courage to take the next bold, uncomfortable step.
Sometimes the closed door is redirection. Sometimes the waiting is preparation. And sometimes the thing you’re afraid won’t work out becomes the very thing that changes your life.
Your story isn’t over yet.
GHRITS stands for Gratitude, Hope, Resilience, Intuition, Tenacity, and Significance—principles designed to help you move from unstuck to unstoppable.

In this heartfelt tribute to Dolly Parton, we reflect on something bigger than her music, fame, or success—we reflect on her heart.
Dolly lived a life of kindness, generosity, faith, service, and love. She invested in children, gave without needing recognition, accepted people where they were, and used her life to leave others better than she found them.
So today, we ask: What would Dolly do?
She would love. She would serve. She would give. She would bring people together.
Romans 12:20 reminds us, “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.”
In a world that can feel so divided, maybe it’s time to stop focusing on being right and start focusing on finding solutions, protecting our children, helping others, and loving one another.
Dolly showed us what significance looks like.
May we all strive to have a little more of a Dolly heart—and leave this world better than we found it.
God loves you. I love you. Now go love somebody else.

What does it really mean to live an abundant life?
In this episode of the GHRITS Podcast, Mindy Brown challenges the idea that abundance is measured by money, property, possessions, or how much we can accumulate.
True abundance goes much deeper. It is found in our relationship with God, the peace we carry within, the joy in our hearts, and the relationships we share with the people we love.
The house, the car, the property, and the things God gives us are blessings entrusted to us to manage and enjoy—but they are not the source of an abundant life.
Jesus said He came so that we could have life and have it more abundantly. Maybe abundance isn’t about having more. Maybe it’s about recognizing what God has already given us, finding peace and joy within, loving the people around us, and faithfully stewarding the blessings in our care.
Don’t confuse the blessing with the abundance. The abundance is your relationship with God, the peace and joy within you, and the people you get to share this life with.

Put Down Your Stones
Before we judge, condemn, or seek to hurt someone else, we need to remember the words of Jesus:
“He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” — John 8:7
In this episode of the GHRITS Podcast, we talk about forgiveness, guilt, shame, grace, and learning to put down the stones we’ve been carrying.
Your past does not have to become your future. Your hardest valleys can shape you into a stronger, wiser, and more compassionate person. Forgiveness doesn’t mean there are no boundaries or consequences. It means refusing to let bitterness, anger, or hurt control who you become.
Before you throw the stone, remember: that person is somebody’s loved one. Somebody’s mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, son, grandmother, grandfather, or friend.
And sometimes the stone we need to put down isn’t meant for someone else. Sometimes it’s the guilt and shame we keep throwing at ourselves.
Put down your stones. Choose grace. Choose forgiveness. Keep moving forward.
Your past does not define your future. God can use every valley, every lesson, and every hardship to shape who you are becoming.

What are you willing to stand for that is greater than yourself?
In this episode of the GHRITS Podcast, Mindy Brown talks about standing for purpose even through hardship, valleys, mistakes, and setbacks. She shares why protecting children, preserving freedom, and standing against human and drug trafficking and exploitation should be causes that bring us together—not divide us.
This isn’t about politics. It’s about people. It’s about choosing significance over success, doing the right thing even when it’s uncomfortable, and leaving a better world for future generations.
You don’t need a perfect past to make a difference today. You just have to be willing to stand for something greater than yourself.
What do you do when life hits a crisis?
In this episode of the GHRITS Podcast, Mindy Brown walks through the GHRITS framework—Gratitude, Hope, Resilience, Intuition, Tenacity, and Significance—and how these principles can guide us through adversity, uncertainty, and difficult decisions.
A crisis can become an opportunity to learn, unlearn, relearn, lead differently, and begin again.
Because no matter the circumstances, it is always the right time to do the right thing.
