Giant Mess

In this "Giant Mess", New York Giants fan Neal Lynch reacts to Big Blue's 29-20 upset win over the Seattle Seahawks that included stellar efforts from all three units. Tyrone Tracy Jr, Darius Slayton, and Daniel Jones bolstered a solid offense. Dexter Lawrence, Brian Burns, and Deonte Banks spearheaded a dominant defense. The special teams sealed the deal with Isaiah Simmons blocking a potential game-tying field goal returned for a touchdown by Bryce Ford-Wheaton. Plus, a very premature preview of the upcoming Week 6 matchup on Sunday Night Football against Joe Burrow, Ja'marr Chase and the 1-4 Cincinnati Bengals.

ABOUT NEAL LYNCH:

I'm an Irish-Italian-American who graduated from 1) a Catholic high school (even though I'm not Catholic), and 2) a college known for producing doctors and lacrosse players, then became neither. I was a former 4th string college quarterback and middle relief pitcher who thought an overpriced film and media studies degree was a smart choice. Now, I'm a single dad who likes to blog, vlog, podcast, write, edit, optimize, strategize, and over-analyze.

In this episode of the "Giant Mess" podcast, New York Mets fan Neal Lynch recaps the 2024 regular season that was filled with humor, whimsy, and joy and finished with a sensational September thanks to outstanding pitching efforts from Jose Quintana, Sean Manaea, Luis Severino, David Peterson, Phil Maton, and Tylor Megill. The Amazin's clinched a playoff spot in game 161 against the Atlanta Braves thanks to should-be Captain and MVP Francisco Lindor and Brandon Nimmo. Neal runs down the list of surprise key contributors (like Mark Vientos, Jose Iglesias, David Peterson, Jose Butto, and Tyrone Taylor) over the regular season and gives his opinion on whether or not the team should re-sign Pete Alonso. Neal then previews the upcoming Wild Card series matchup against those pesky Milwaukee Brewers.
