The Chief Minister has told GBC he stopped excessive overtime highlighted in the Principal Auditor's report as soon as it was brought to his attention some years back.The report on the Public Accounts of Gibraltar for 2017 and 2018 points out high levels of overtime payments  We caught up with News Editor Christine Vasquez, who spoke to Fabian Picardo earlier today.

The GSD accuses the Government of "blocking financial accountability" by "systematically delaying" certain legislation in Parliament. It says there is a legal obligation to pass the accounts to the Principal Auditor by no later than nine months after the end of a financial year. The Shadow Minister for Public Finances Roy Clinton told us more.

The Chief Minister met with the Foreign Secretary in London. Lord Cameron said he remains confident that a Gibraltar treaty is achievable, and can deliver for everyone in the region. Also present at the meeting were the Deputy Chief Minister Joseph Garcia and the Europe Minister Leo Docherty. Fabian Picardo also answered questions from a committee in the House of Commons. Our reporter Christina Cortes has been following both events.

We caught up with one of Gibraltar's new Government Ministers Leslie Bruzon. He is the Minister for Industrial Relations, Civil Contingencies and Sport, as well as the constituency for the Eastside and Catalan Bay.

And, Government plans for a new accommodation building at Europa Point are being parked, according to Action for Housing. The block was set to house up to 256 key workers, people considered homeless and men who need accommodation following marital breakdown. Action For Housing's Henry Pinna joined us in the studio.

The Fire and Rescue Service extinguished a fire on the 23rd floor of an unoccupied, unfinished building at Hassan Centenary Terraces on Wednesday night. They had some initial difficulty with access, but once they got there they were able to put out the blaze in minutes. GBC understands the fire was in a skip at the top of the tower block, which is still under construction.Our reporter Kelly-Anne Borge, who happens to be a resident of the area, told us more.

GGCA President Wendy Cumming will be the next Public Services Ombudsman, making her the first ever woman in the post. Ms Cumming will take over from Ron Coram at the start of May and a nominations process for the post of GGCA President is now underway. She spoke to us about the appointment.

The GSD MP's responsibilities also include Equality and Civic Pride. We asked him how the last few months have been for him as an MP.

The latest Covid booster programme starts next week. Our reporter Christina Cortes gave us more information, as she spoke to the Director of Public Health earlier today.

And, mental health advocate Rabbi Shalom Hammer is currently in Gibraltar, invited by suicide prevention charity GibSams. Rabbi Hammer lost his daugher Gila to suicide at just 18 years old. He gave a talk at the John Mackintosh Hall yesterday, and spoke to us about the importance of removing stigma.
