The Royal Gibraltar Police, Gibraltar Health Authority and Gibraltar Fire and Rescue Service have announced that, with effect from Monday 18 March, there will just be one Emergency number for all three services – 999. This single number will replace the numbers that have been in use for many years. Christina Cortes told us how the new number will work, with the aim of a unified control room in the future.
Today is World Book Day, and Cultural Services are bringing literature to life at the John Mackintosh Hall, as they do every year. This year their theme is all things David Walliams, with a Gangsta Granny experience, storytelling featuring The Queen's Orangutan, and school workshops have been taking place during the morning, with a focus on art, performance and storytelling. This will be the fourth season of X Factor Spain, featuring judges who are all well known in the Spanish music industry, searching for the next big music sensation. Local musician Rima, an X-Factor hopeful, will be taking part in the show this weekend.
