  • Power cut, 40 years of marriage & free books

A major power cut in the early hours of the morning left areas in the city centre, upper town and east side without electricity for the whole morning. Power was returned to most areas by about 1230. Our producer Kelly Anne Borge talked to us about the impact on businesses and on people who use medical equipment at home to support their breathing when they sleep.

We had a really special moment on Friday. Paul and Chutti Lyon joined us in the studio to discuss the secrets to a successful, lifelong partnership. They were celebrating 40 years of marriage by renewing their vows. We played them their wedding song. They danced. It was beautiful. After you listen to this podcast, please go to Radio Gibraltar's socials to see that.

And, if one of your new’s year resolutions this year was to read more, you’ll want to hear what Davina Barbara of Cultural Services had to say about BorrowBox.

  • International women’s day & parental leave concerns

How far away are we from true equality and true equity for women in Gibraltar? When might we have equal paternity leave on the Rock?

Jonathan Scott was joined in the studio by Fiona Young of the Federation of Small Businesses, as well as Tanya Santini McClelland and Hannah Mifsud, who have contributed to events in recent days to mark International Women's Day and focus our minds on inequalities.

  • Supermarket strike action, wraparound care & Lincoln do it again

Concerned parent Lianne Garcia is not just complaining that wraparound care is needed, she's doing something about it.

Footballers Dayle Coeling and Ethan Britto told us how league winners Lincoln keep that winning mentality.

And, Unite the union has been making noise outside Morrisons for over a month. Are they asking for too much? Or perhaps the supermarket is being unreasonable?

We spoke to the union’s Christian Duo and striking Morrisons workers Caremen Wilkins and Roger Cabral.
