We received the Holy Spirit at salvation. (John 20:22)

We release the Holy Spirit at baptism. (Act 2:4)

We received Holy Spirit to be saved but we release him to be empowered.

Benefits of speaking in tongues:

1. Enhances our prayer life

2. It builds your faith. (Jude 1:20)

3. Divine health and healing to your body. (1 Corinthians 14:4)

4. Gives you power of fear and anxiety. (2 Timothy 1:6–7)

5. Gives you boldness. (Acts 1:8)

How to receive this gift?

By asking for it! (Luke 11:13)

Laying on of hands! (Acts 19:6)

We pray in tongues at will “I will”

When we speak in tongues it’s void of human meaning but we have faith that the Holy Spirit adds heavenly meaning to it.

Hinderance of receiving tongues: 

1. Overthinking 

2. Pride 

3. Fear  

4. Inaction
