Is it propaganda, or just capitalism being lazy? Crystal and Scott dig into the PR playbook that's been shaping what you eat, buy, believe, and salute for over a century. 

We start with Edward Bern's, freud's nephew and the father of modern PR, and his greatest hits: Torches of Freedom, bacon and eggs, and a few darker campaigns.

Halloween night is supposed to be fun until you hear someone describe the exact sound of boots crossing a kitchen floor, feel the bed dip like a person just sat down, and realize you can’t move. We kick off this bonus mini-episode by swapping two scary stories, starting with a first-person encounter in 1990s Waynesboro, Pennsylvania: a young mom alone with her toddlers encounters something in her bedroom. But did she call upon it? 

From there, we head up the mountain to Penmar on the Mason-Dixon line, where old resort-era mansions still sit like time capsules. The legend we share isn’t just a haunted house story, it’s a whole chain of events: two kids seeing an old man in a top hat and a mean old woman, a séance where the medium refuses to let one spirit speak because it feels “pure evil,” and a flood of attempted cleansings that only make the home feel less safe. 

The hardest part is what comes next: a psychic’s claim about an infant spirit and a gruesome tragedy tied to an affair, followed years later by a chance meeting that could tie it all together.
