God directs and enables His people to continue their move through the land, with the promise of His Provision and Power.

As Joshua and the people respond, it's clear that God's unbreakable promises enable their unwavering obedience. This is evident in the defeat of Ai, and also in the renewal of the covenant at Mount Ebal, where an awareness of - and obedience to - God's Word is crystal clear

Joshua 6 shows us the defeat of Jericho, and once again we see that this was a mighty display of God - His Promises, Provision & Power.

We see that it's God's Promises which fuel the ACTION of God's people; His Provision fuels their TRUST in Him; and His Power fuels their SUBMISSION to Him and His ways.

As we read of the people crossing the Jordan River into the land God had promised them, we see 3 aspects made clear for us:

1. WHAT happens (the people cross the river)

2. HOW it happens (only God can do it, and the people must follow)

3. WHY it happens (faith is built and God's fame spreads)

Alongside all of this, is the important instruction from God for the people to take steps to make sure this event is REMEMBERED by His people, and that's another key lesson for us as His followers today
