Gimme the MiC!

In our special pre-Thanksgiving poetry and spoken word episode, we thank our Veterans for serving our country and acknowledge the people who have suffered loss during this time.  This is a healing episode where our hostess shares pieces to help those who may be celebrating alone and/or dealing with difficult feelings and issues during this holiday season.

October is jam packed with Mental Health stuff.  National Depression, and Mental Health Screening Month, ADHD Awareness Month.  That’s why we at Gimme the Mic! went with the Purge Yourself theme.  Not only is poetry and spoken word a great way to express yourself, it’s a wonderful therapeutic way to heal.

Well, it's not liquor.  It's actually the oldest poetry form.  It SOUNDS like something you do with liquor...but it's not.  Let's talk about how to write this poetry form, where it comes from, and what it sounds like.
