We like to keep life nice, clean, comfortable, and quiet. We even invent rules--both written and unwritten--which keep those who might rock the boat in check. God gives us rules to live by (morals) and a government to protect and lead us (laws), but many of the other rules aren't doing the good we think they are...especially for the wild ones among us.

The expectations for young people--particularly young men--in this country are low. Too low. When we don't expect anything challenging or difficult from young men, they grow up soft, directionless, and without the toughness or skills they'll need in life, much less the strength--both mentally and spiritually.

The most prominent lie about the movement to restore christian manhood and live out our calling as men of God is that anyone who wants to help men (or is "pro-man") is automatically a misogynist who hates women or sees them as second-class citizens. This isn't true. Men and women, created equal in the eyes of God, are designed with different attributes, roles, and purposes, which, when fulfilled, create something more beautiful than the world can imagine--a picture of God's love for us.
