Hi everyone! Guess what? I wrote a book! It's called Confessions of a Yo-yo Dieter and is the story of what goes on in your head when you're dieting + the holistic health concepts I learned that helped me find peace and enjoyment!
In this episode I'm going to read an excerpt to you. What do you think, do you resonate?
Come buy the book over on Amazon, here.
I would LOVE to hear from you! Send me a message at [email protected].
Do you dread going into the fitting room?
You take several items with you and are instantly daunted by the 3-way mirrors and horrible lighting.
The first one you try on doesn't fit....but maybe the next one, will?
So you try each item on just in case, but nothing looks right.
You leave the fitting room with nothing, defeated, and feel like there's only one solution to have a positive experience next time: lose some weight.
Whoa, hold up! The issue isn't your body...it's the clothes!
This time, I sat down with clothing tailor Melanie Uematsu to learn more about how we can feel amazing in our bodies simply by making sure our clothes suit us. Melanie has worked for top designers and fashion brands including Uniqlo and Tsumori Chisato.

...and more!

Did you know there's a difference between fermenting, culturing, and pickling?
Did you know that there's 14k+ diseases out there, and many start because something went wrong with the gut?
Did you know that the bacteria from fermented vegetables can heal your digestive system?
Even though I was aware of those before I spoke with Kirsten Shockey ---author of Fermented Veggies and Fiery Eats, two books on the mechanisms and art behind fermenting vegetables ---I didn't realize how just how powerful fermenting can be.
So if you're a newbie to this concept or a seasoned veteran, check out this interview to learn more about what you can do with those left over vegetables in your fridge, to reap the most benefits!

I wrote an article once on how taking hot baths helped me lose weight, and received quite a bit of negative comments. Commenters thought it was a joke!
Fast forward a few months, I came across an article on the benefits of taking a bath, written by Dr. Steve Faulkner, a research who studies how passive heating can help alleviate health issues. The comments on that were quite positive, and I knew that I had to bring Dr. Faulkner on to fill people in on the scientific reason behind why this works.

One of the biggest problems I see when people have health issues is that they don't know who the right person is to consult.
If you visit a general practitioner who is trained to prescribe medicine, then you'll likely leave with medication even if it's for a chronic condition that can be healed with food.
So this time, I've brought on Tracy Harrison to talk about what the difference is in practitioners and how to get a sense of what to look for to help yourself.
Tracy is an MIT graduate and functional nutritionist, and founder of the School of Applied Functional Medicine, an incredibly thorough online program that trains other practitioners in functional methods.
What I love about her is that she has a passion for problem solving and helps others understand the interconnectedness of what is going on in our bodies.

About 10 years ago, I read the book Mindless Eating by Brian Wansink and was hooked. The book spanned countless research studies that have been done to find out how environmental factors can influence our eating habits, from plates and cups to music pace, menu wording, and more.
In this episode, the director of the same research facility at Cornell University's Food & Brand Lab, Adam Brumberg, shares details about their findings and how you can actually design your environment for weight loss and health success!

The first time I thought about a vegetarian diet, I had no clue what on earth to eat, nor how vegetarians were haven't any excitement with their food experiences.
When I stumbled upon Food Energetics, I started wondering what other foods were out there that I had never tried, and before I knew it I was experimenting with a variety of ingredients and enjoyed it so much that I dabbled in veganism. It's actually pretty awesome if you know what you're doing!
So in this podcast episode, I sat down with Dr. Neal Barnard, renowned expert on plant based nutrition and author of 18 books on everything from weight loss to brain health to heart health. You're really in for a treat!

If you've been feeling depressed, it could just be because of lack of light exposure and quality sleep, especially in the dark winter months.
Personally, I remember feeling so down all the time during the few years I lived in Connecticut, and I couldn't understand why until I heard about Seasonal Affective Disorder, which is just a fancy way of saying the "Winter Blues". It was like I transformed into a grumpy bear ready for hibernation - I felt sluggish, tired all the time, ravenous, and unmotivated. That is, until I found the Verilux Happy Lights.
I'm here today with Charlotte Addison from Verilux to explain what happens to our body chemistry when we're exposed to light, and how to make sure you can help yourself feel amazing with light therapy!
Plus, if you're interested in giving light therapy a try, Verilux has been so gracious to offer 15% off if you visit their site www.verilux.com and use the special code: BLISS15
