What up, sis?! Meet the inspirational Bobby Kimbrough of The Prism Way. Growing up in Watts in a single-parent household, Bobby faced challenges with his abusive stepfather, leading him to the streets, gangs, and violence. He shares his struggles with emotional suppression and low self-esteem, masking his trauma and pain through violence. At a young age, Bobby found himself in prison facing a life sentence and hit rock bottom in solitary confinement. With his sister as his guiding light, Bobby was determined to change. He turned to God and internal work, building his self-esteem and learning the tools to let go and forgive. Forgiving his parents brought him peace. This episode is so powerful! There is power in prayer, and you can change your mindset. Come sit with us, sis—Bobby is so special. God's mercy and Bobby's journey of forgiveness will inspire you. What up, sis?! Meet the incredible barber and Prism Way inspiration, Boanergez Martinez. Growing up in Inglewood, Boanergez faced immense challenges as a young Hispanic man. With his father leaving the family when he was just five, Boanergez found safety and value in gang life, looking up to his older brother, who was deeply involved in gang activities.
Despite feeling secure in that world, Boanergez’s life took a dark turn, facing 35 years to life in prison. Struggling with suicidal thoughts, anxiety, and depression, he made a powerful decision to change his life. In prison, he found sobriety, took accountability for his wrongs, and sought change by allowing God to guide him. With unshakable faith, Boanergez wrote down his desire for freedom and declared it daily, manifesting his release.

At just 7 years old, Ray endured physical abuse from his father, his once-hero who became his biggest enemy. Struggling to cope, Ray turned to gangs and a life of crime, entering the juvenile system at 13 and eventually landing in prison.
Ray's trauma led him to live a fear-based life, feeling unloved, with low self-esteem and self-worth. Sentenced to life in prison, Ray's journey took a transformative turn, prison changed his life.
