  • Episode 43: Groundhog Day
    It's....(Almost) Groundhog DAY!
On this week's "Girl, We Need to Talk," we turn our focus to the National Treasure that is Groundhog Day--the lovable, comical, and surprisingly philosophical movie starring Bill Murray, Andie MacDowell, and Chris Elliot.
In this episode, Krystle professes her love for Michael Shannon and Bill Murray, explains the link between the movie and the hugely popular series, Schitt's Creek, and does a deep dive into the film. We get deep guys, real profound stuff happening here.

  • Episode 42: Virgin River
    GWNTT’ers!!!
Today, KW and I are dishing about the Netflix original show, Virgin River. Apparently Netflix knows me better than I know myself, recommending this show that I didn’t think I would even like, much less LOVE.
And would it even be a GWNTT episode if everything went according to plans? We discuss “getting off on the best foot,” (yes it’s a misnomer), our lousy geography, and you get to hear a rare snort.
    We hope you enjoy!

  • Episode 41: Bridgerton
    GWNTT listeners!!
This week we are talking about the Netflix series Bridgerton!!
If you have not given this series a watch, what are you even doing with your life?!
This series was downright incredible! A Shondaland production. A racially diverse cast. A historical drama/love story with a modern twist….. AND Rege-Jean Page… ooh la la!!!!!
As always, we ventured down several tangents…our upcoming podcast anniversary, our love of Patrick (Patricia) Hinds—and Gillian and Ellyn, of course—and Morgan Wallen’s latest album.
This week was also HUGE for KW and I as we got to record with our new equipment. We are feeling profesh and bona fide!
Check us out on Podomatic, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and Deezer. And please take a moment to share, rate, review, and subscribe!

  • Episode 40: Red Leaves by Paullina Simons
    GWNTT Fam!
In this week’s episode we discuss Paullina Simon’s novel, Red Leaves.
We explain how we came to love Paullina Simon’s writing through her heart-wrenching, world-wrecking novel, The Bronze Horseman—which definitely falls under the “This book tore my heart out…you must read it” category.
We also discuss the similarities between Red Leaves and Donna Tartt’s The Secret History, the mishaps of the Christmas season, the travel misadventures of Toog’s Cozy Coupe, and the fact that we are still awkward with the introductions.
As always, you can find us on Podomatic, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify...and now we're on Deezer!

  • Episode 38: The Christmas Card
    GWNTTers!
In this week’s episode we cover my favorite Christmas movie, the 2006 Hallmark movie “The Christmas Card.”
The story follows Cody Cullen, a soldier home on leave during the holidays, who ventures to Nevada City in search of the woman who sent him a Christmas Card.
As always, we took the liberty of a few brief tangents quoting both Southern Belles and Elf, and discussing the infuriating Tania Head story.
This will be our last episode of 2020, and we would like to thank our listeners for all of their support. We cannot wait to bring you new content in 2021.
You can find this episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and Podomatic.

  • Episode 36: Christmas Traditions
GWNTTers! We are so glad to be back with you!
In this week’s episode, we cover some of our favorite Christmas traditions, including our hectic childhood schedules, our favorite Christmas morning memories, and what traditions we have adopted as adults.
Krystle also shares some trivia around some time honored traditions like having a Christmas tree and hanging stockings, why it’s customary to kiss under the mistletoe, & just why do we have big Christmas dinners and celebrations?
Krystle and I would also like to thank you for being patient with us for taking last week off. I have been under the weather, and we have been trying to stay safe.
The sound quality will be a little different this week, as we had to record via call. Also, listen closely for my free-ranging rooster who decided to crow like his life depended on it during our recording session. We are hoping recording will be back to normal in the upcoming weeks. This is probably our most “2020” episode ever.
As always, you can find this episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and Podomatic.

  • Episode 35: Girl, Let's Talk: Fears
Warning: This will not be your normally scheduled GWNTT!
In this week's episode, we cover what we’ve been reading, listening to, and watching... But the main discussion focuses on our rational, irrational, and (pretty much) comical fears.
We hope y’all enjoy this slight change of pace! Share with us if you have some of the same (or different) fears-we'd love to hear from you!
