It’s the little things in life that are actually the big things.

Life is made up of all these little moments that are strung together. 

Some of them are beautiful beyond belief, some are heart wrenching, and some can feel mundane but together they make up this wild thing that we called life.

It can be so easy to try and zoom to the next extravagant moment to come but living like that - we miss out on those magic little pauses in time that make life and the human experience what it is.

SO…..with Thanksgiving among us - we thought what better time than now to discuss our little victories  which can sometimes be easily bypassed.

It feels good to love on those small moments as they make us feel all the feeeeeels!

Today we are covering a few mindful conversation topics and they are both about...da da da daaaaaaaa ---- friendship.

We both ask each other these two Q’s:

What do we look for and need in our friendships? And how do we feel that we best offer love and support to our friendships?

After discussing, and basically professing our gratitude mixed with a slight co-dependency on our own friendship (slightly kidding) we realized that more than anything at this point in our lives it’s all about quality over quantity.

Do you ever let yourself sit in silence enough to actually listen to your own voice? Or do you lean into your vices out of avoidance and fear of your own inner dialogue and true feelings?

When listening to others, do you truly listen? Or do you instantly lose track in your own mind on how you’d like to respond?

Let me just say I’m virtually raising my hand in the air, and am definitely GUILTY of all the scenarios listed above. I’d also like to believe I’m not the only one.

After talking about this topic with Mon we learned that when it comes to listening, we can always improve. I think it’s also save to say when it comes to turning our gaze inward and listening to ourselves - it’s just as important if not MORE important than being a good listener to others.

It was Saturday night while filming..I had an old fashioned in hand...Mon was about to hit the town and let’s just say a new southern drawl may have made a surprise appearance.

Please…bring..honor…to…*YOURSELF* 

Any Disney movie aficionados out there?! That was supposed to be a play on the song from Mulan, “Bring honor to us all.” {Whoa..I’m feeling nostalgic already.}

Anyways…as amazing as it sounds to bring honor to us all…we wanted to focus on the importance of bringing honor to ourselves first.  It’s crucial because if we are constantly putting others needs before our own, how are we supposed to properly honor those around us in the first place?

Do something that fills your love tank this week - ain’t nobody got time to run on empty. Honoring yourself sounds glamorous and important because it truly is!

Whether you crawl, walk at a snail like pace, speed walk or freaking sprint...removing yourself from what's not serving you is a power move in the "advocating for yourself" department.

It's really one of the most important departments you can be apart of....it's exclusive, it's personal, and all jokes aside it really is everything.

Yes, sometimes walking away can be challenging {especially for people pleasers like our past selves} but what's even more challenging is moving through life without tools to make sure you are setting yourself up for true happiness.

There is power in positivity.

There is something to be said about having a general positive outlook and how that relates to the trajectory of our happiness levels throughout our lifetime.

No, we aren’t talking about the dreaded topic of toxic positivity {we all have our shit} but rather an all encompassing optimistic approach when things don’t align the way we wish.

With this sense of optimism comes vitality, and with vitality comes peace, a childlike energy and a presence that helps to get us through those tougher times.

This is something we are working on everyday - personally, it’s something I need to work on all the time - but UGH it’s so important.
