The Dude Bros have survived two murder sprees of the vicious killer known as Motherface. But now, blood spills once more, this time with the Dude Bros off at a secluded party lake. This one has it all, at stunning VHS quality, the very best the early 90s have to offer. Blood. Guts. Beer. Vintage commercial breaks. Patton fucking Oswalt for some reason.

Gene Hackman in the 1970s sure was something. We're joined by first-time-on-the-pod guest Clay Von Carlowitz, who comes bearing gifts in the form of 1975's Night Moves - a film neither Frank or Matt had ever seen before (nor had Frank even heard of before) which always makes for a treat of an episode. It's a grizzly, tangled web of a mystery story where things are not what they seem (I know they always say that, but in this case the things that don't seem what they seem don't even seem what they seem to seem, you get me?)

Night Moves is something of a commentary on the detective noir genre popularized in the 1930s and 40s. Gene Hackman stars as Harry Moseby. If you ever asked yourself...I wonder what it looks like to see Gene Hackman legitimately try to flirt with someone then this is the episode for you.

Matt and Frank sit down with Michael Ludwig, recently returned from the UK to talk about the all-American classic, ID4 (yes, we even debate when "ID4" became a thing). It's the alien invasion movie that changed Hollywood forever, and became one of the biggest event films of all time. But other than one - dare I say, borderline made-for-TV - sequel back in 2016, there really aren't many other echoes of this film on pop culture. Despite crushing dozens of box office records, Independence Day was, basically a one-hit-wonder. 

But we get into all that and more. So pop open a beer, flip those burgers, and get to listening before the fireworks start!

Not gonna lie, this one burned us.

The fifth entry in Gene Roddenberry's franchise is generally considered the worst, but excuse us? I’d just like to ask a question. What does God need with a starship? Also: is Star Trek V: The Final Frontier a great Trek film, or the greatest Trek film? I know, you're thinking we've cracked under the quarantine pressure. You're right, but that has no baring on our opinion of this movie.
