The Indian news media are facing a credibility crisis. Naked bias, toxicity in presentation, fake reporting – these are just some of the ills plaguing the media as they do a poor job of asking questions of and speaking truth to power. This has coincided with a shrinking space for dissent. What can the news media do to restore their credibility? Are they even interested?
