Dr. Qadira Huff, MD, MPH, FAAP, DipABLM discusses the importance of instilling healthy living early on in children to help prevent chronic disease, like childhood obesity that can put any person, kid or adult, at higher risk of severe COVID19 illness during this pandemic. Dr. Qadira addresses exactly this in her current medical practice as a pediatrician and in her new venture called Sprouting Wellness to coach families along the journey towards adopting healthier lifestyles. We get into her work and a wide variety of topics from her Masters in Public health at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health where she focused on food systems and health disparities, to how social inequalities play a role into healthcare inequalities, and to whole food plant based living. I hope this talk helps you take action in your own health, the health of our children and the fight for social justice.

Nancy Harazduk MEd, MSW discusses how to leverage these uncertain times as your opportunity for personal growth. My 8th guest as part of my Launch Series is a person I feel a special kinship with as we share a common purpose to help others lead healthier lives. So happy to have him here. Anthony Masiello has been working in healthcare for more than 20 years. His career started by working on bioinformatics with the Human Genome Project then transitioned to pharmaceutical research. But his unbelievable health journey, losing over 150 pounds and successfully keeping it off since 2005, took him down a different path that eventually led to his discovery of Lifestyle Medicine. So Anthony then shifted his career to focus on the prevention and reversal of chronic disease through his new tele health startup, Plant Based TeleHealth, the first national lifestyle telemedicine service. And he’s here to share with you his definition of health. I hope Anthony’s message helps to redefine what health means for you.

My 7th guest as part of my Launch Series is a person I have known all my life. I have deep admiration for her since she’s overcome much adversity - from abuse, to addiction and being a working single mom - to transform into the positive force she is today.

A graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu culinary school, she has been servicing San Antonio in both food & fitness industries to date. Now, after being fellowship trained in Sleep Medicine, Dr. Matsumura describes herself as a wholistic sleep medicine physician and emphasizes to her patients the importance of sleep as an key piece to wellness. And she's here to offer her thoughts on how she defines health. I hope Dr. Matsumura’s definition helps to redefine what health means for you.

My very first guest in my Launch Series is a woman I truly adore and respect. Nancy Harazduk , M.Ed., MWS, is the Director of the Mind-Body Medicine (MBM) program at my Alma Mater, Georgetown University School of Medicine. She has helped so many med students through the Georgetown’s MBM program, including me. Nancy was my rock through the most turbulent times of med school. So I am forever grateful to her for giving me strength when I didn’t think I had any left. And she’ll be giving you her take on how she defines health. Hope her message awakens something inside your mind to help redefine what health means for you.
