Have you ever said something only to wish that you could take it back?

Peter, one of Jesus' main disciples, had many moments like this, saying things he would later regret.

Today, we look at one such moment in Matthew 16, and learn how Jesus gives us second chances.

In Romans 12:13, the apostle Paul calls Christians to "seek to show hospitality."

What does this calling mean for how we connect to our church and our community?

When we see others in need, how do we respond?

Do we ask what's in it for us? Do we say it's not our problem? Or do we ask how we can help?

In Luke 10, Jesus tells the story of a man who is beaten and robbed on the Jericho Road, and another man who saves him.

We often refer to this story as "the Good Samaritan," and focus on the actions of the Samaritan who helped the beaten man.

However, there are important lessons to be learned from each of the many characters in this classic story.

Whether you are a new Jesus follower, or a lifelong Jesus follower, we are on a path of faith that will define how we live.

The apostle Paul often refers to believers as running a race of faith, and says that we should not grow weary in doing so.

Today, be encouraged by the book of Hebrews, which says we have a great cloud of witnesses cheering us on as we run.

What makes you cry? This sounds like an odd question, but it's an important one.

What we mourn is a sign of what we prioritize. Nehemiah mourned the destruction of Jerusalem, the city of God.

Do we prioritize God in our own lives, and mourn the things He mourns? Again- what makes you cry?

In John 13, we see Jesus serve the disciples by washing their feet during dinner.

Washing feet was a dirty job, and by washing his disciples' feet, Jesus taught them a lesson.

That lesson was showing the disciples, and us, the way that God wants us to serve others.

In Revelation, seven churches were called out for their levels of faith and action in Jesus - both good and bad.

If we were to be called out in the same way, what would our faith and our actions say about us?

God has given us an opportunity to serve His Kingdom - how will you respond?

In Luke 7, Jesus sits down for dinner and encounters two sinners: a Pharisee and a sinful woman.

The woman recognized her sin and sought forgiveness from Jesus. The Pharisee judged the woman, ignoring his own sin.

Today, do we recognize ourselves as sinners in need of the grace of Jesus, just like the woman?

As we celebrate Independence Day, we are often reminded of one word: freedom.

As Christians, our ultimate freedom comes through our faith in Jesus.

As a reminder of this, we turn to Paul's letter to the Galatians, and learn about our freedom from sin and death.
