Recent events clearly point at  the activation of this seismic interdependence.  For example, on January 24  there was a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 points 103 kilometers to the north-east of the coast of the Japanese island of Honshu. This earthquake was registered a day after one of the most violent earthquakes in US history took place near the coast of Alaska.  Its magnitude was 8.2 points.
