Happy Hanukkah!
On this podcast, we welcome Rabbi Chanan Chernitsky - the only Rabbi in Newfoundland and Labrador and the Director of Chabad of Newfoundland. We learn about the history of Hanukkah, Jewish communities in NL, and significant traditions. This year - we are invited to join the public Hanukkah celebration for people of any faith on Sunday, December 18, at 136 Crosby Road (parking lot), St. John’s, from 4 PM - 5:30 PM. On this episode of Global Frequencies, we sat with ANC’s Geraldine Ankrah - Project Coordinator of SEA (Support Empower Access). She walks us through the shocking still-existing prevalence of gender-based abuse and violence, in particular, how refugee and migrant women are at an increased risk and what we can do about it here at home.
