To start with a sidenote, what caught my eye originally was the news that Taiwan exports grow 9.7% in February primarily because of its computer chip industry.
That's a salient point enough because Taiwan is a major player in the global semiconductor supply chain because it specializes in smaller, more powerful chips that require less energy, and that's better for the environment.
But, even better bitter-sweet news is about the global economy – expect a rebound by midyear topping pre-pandemic levels because of growth spurred by increased vaccinations against Covid and US government stimulus, reports Nikkei Asia.1
