While religion has significantly shaped many African societies' cultural and social fabric, it has also been associated with sociological distortions and challenges. Here are some ways in which religion has been linked to distortions in African sociology

Most importantly, as individuals and families, let us consider ways to reconnect with our agricultural roots. Whether starting a small garden, supporting local farmers, or exploring agricultural entrepreneurship, we can contribute to the revival of Nigerian agriculture. On this Independence Day, let us renew our commitment to building a prosperous, self-reliant Nigeria. Let us heed the call to return to the land and ensure that agriculture once again becomes a cornerstone of our nation's development.

Together, we can cultivate a brighter future for Nigeria, where the land sustains us, and we, in turn, nurture our beloved nation.

I observed that education plays a significant role in shaping and changing sociology, reflecting and influencing the broader social landscape. In Nigeria, where I grew up, rural areas are agricultural communities. With formal education, the native sociology of these communities changed over time. Does education distort indigenous sociology or enhance it? That is a million-dollar question. Nevertheless, education and sociology are interconnected in many ways.

Bottomline, social changes often make our humanity better. For example, once upon a time, there was racial separate living or apartheid in some parts of the world, but that is no more. Likewise, there was a time women were not allowed to vote, but that is history today. Religion plays a significant role in social change. The goal of most religions is to evangelize and get more converts. When this happens, it significantly impacts people's social outlook and worldview. All these culminate into political leanings and ideologies, which play prominent roles in State policies, programs, and the direction the society goes.
