TechWar is the competition between states using Intellectual Property, access to products and technology, access to markets, and influence over technical standards and specifications.  It's not all space lasers and 6G technology -- the most heated battles will be over who controls the technical standards for thousands of routine products, services, and technologies.  

Permanent institutions like WTO and the EU are SOOO last century.  Fast & flexible FTA's like CPTPP and RCEP are hot right now.  The shift towards flexible FTAs means trade restrictions will fall and cross-border deals will be cheaper -- WHEN THINGS ARE GOING WELL.  These deals don't always have the enforcement or dispute resolution mechanisms that the WTO does -- and they are much easier to walk away from than the EU.  

The US is not leaving the global stage, but in the future we will share the spotlight with other actors – ranging from big stars like China to regional blocs such as ASEAN & even corporate guest appearances like TESLA & Facebook.  

One reason leading Western economies are struggling to compete in Globalism 2.0 is that we did such a great job winning Globalism Classic's battle against communism.  We won -- but had no plan for what followed.
