Why are some black millennials not going to church ? Why is black church full of rules and stigmas? 

Why do we cause division over domination and the race and style of your pastor? 

We focus on the following of man vs the following of the Word. 

 I can wear whatever I want to church and still praise Him.

 I don’t need on a suit, pantyhose, and hat to qualify to be in the house of the Lord

That’s why young people don’t want to come to church because some of them are wounded by man-made traditions passed down. 

“Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Let’s pass the true gospel down. 

“You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:13-14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Going to church is somehow your good deed for you to have a better week. 

Checkbox I’m done. Just took a word to the car that ain’t gonna make it to the stoplight or pass lunch. 

Keep it in the four walls. I’m serving on the usher board, flower committee,  all these committees but in the workplace or school not telling no one about Jesus. 

Choir robes ✅ 

A lot screaming and not a lot of Scripture. ✅

A lot of praising no changed hearts. 🤦🏽‍♀️

I never heard missions or missionaries until I got to a multi cultural church. 

Jesus said ...Go into all nations 

Quiet time what’s that? Jesus did it. “Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:35‬ ‭NLT‬‬

 

Confront a sister on her sin ? Never. Let’s throw condemnation on her. Let’s just talk about her. 

 

No one told me there was no condemnation Romans 8:1

I lived with feeling condemnation for my sexual sins and wedlock pregnancy for years. Because I broke the rules. 

 

I’m not saying black is worse or white is better. I’m saying the difference being at a multicultural church was profound and it changed my life 10 years ago. 

But what I noticed is people getting saved. Giving their life to Christ. What I saw was baptism. I learned about true community and I was shown how to study the word of God on my own. 

It’s time for this stuck in our ways days to be done. So we can truly grow the next generations. Because when sister Williams and Brother Johnson die will they little grands be the church.

Joshua had seen the Lord do what He promised

1. Don’t deviate from the Word
2. Don’t associate with the World and its offerings. In this world, not of this world 
3. Don’t intermarry they will snare you and trap you

How have you deviated from Truth?

Disobedience bring disaster 

Where have you seen your disobedience bring disaster?

 

They were free people 

He reminds them of all the victories the Lord had given . Showing himself trustworthy and faithful.

So as a result 

1. Fear the Lord and serve Him Wholeheartedly 
2. Put away idols 
3. Serve the Lord alone 

 

But you have a choice, what will you choose?

It’s not other nations little gods that we chose, it power, love, success, money, people,  that become our idols or little gods.

Boaz was the pursuer

So while you are waiting or dating,
Make sure to focus on building a relationship with Christ one that can be recognized by a man.

Pray for the right places you should be.

Focus on spiritual growth.

Allow older women to speak into your life

Wait on the Lord

Pride “looking for glory” to look like love 

 

Proud...self focused not needs of others has a big head

 

Behaving rudely

 

Not demand its own way-my way or the highway love looks at the interest of others 

 

Provoked or irritated- sin not love. Kept Moses from the promised land

 

Keeps no record of wrongs- let it go !

 

Stands on the truth not injustice 

 

Bear all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things

No one but Jesus can meet the needs of our soul

 

What is the soul? Self, life, creature, person, appetite, mind, living being, desire, emotion, passion 

 

People may know you based on your outward demeanor, but the inside is only visible by Jesus. 

So why do people claim to have a “soulmate” ? What if you and your “soulmate” break up, divorce then what do you no longer have a mate or a soul?

 

God knows our soul best=He is the soulmate 

 

He loves those who love Him 

““I love all who love me. Those who search will surely find me.”

Search out Him, sis 

 

His love is unquenchable 

“Many waters cannot quench love, nor can rivers drown it. If a man tried to buy love with all his wealth, his offer would be utterly scorned.”

Them chocolates flowers and cards don’t have nothing on His love 

 

Nothing can separate us from His love 

“Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?”

No matter what you have done,been through Jesus wants to be with You 

He is indeed the lover of your soul. You are known loved cared
