The Bullet Journal will help you declutter your packed mind so you can finally examine your thoughts from an objective distance.-- Ryder Carroll, Creator of the Bullet Journal.
To start a Bullet Journal all you need is a pen and a piece of paper, although a Notebook will help keep your pages organised much easier.

Bujo puts you at the helm. You'll learn how to stop reacting and start responding.-- Ryder Carroll, Creator of the Bullet Journal.
Through rapid logging, Bullet Journal allows you to get your thoughts, tasks, ideas and feelings down on paper fast and efficiently.
Your Bullet Journal can be as simplistic or as artistic as you want to make it. There are no "rules" as to how you should Bullet Journal. There are however guides to keep you focused and on track.
Searching YouTube or Instagram will turn up an insane amount of fancy and artistic looking notebooks, don't be put off.
A Bullet Journal is yours and needs to work for you. I go by the general rule of thumb, how may people truly show you their "dear diary" entries.
So you should keep the question in mind, is this a real used in a daily life Bullet Journal or is it purely setup for show and tell to make a quick buck on Instagram or YouTube.
Don't get me wrong, there are some very artistic and beautifully produced working journals on both YouTube and Instagram, but I do suspect there are many that aren't used daily as a real dump your life story into it and bare all.
Don't be afraid to be minimalistic if you're not artistic, Minimalistic and functional are probably where you want to begin with. At least, until you find the collections and spreads that will work for you.
