Mountain temperatures this morning are in the mid-30s, having not dropped below freezing overnight. There is no new snow. Winds are out of the southwest and west at 10-15 mph around Bozeman, Big Sky, and Cooke City and 25-40 mph with 45 mph gusts around Island Park and West Yellowstone. High temperatures today will be in the 40s and 50s F. Moderate to strong southwest and west winds will continue. Clouds may move in this afternoon with the chance for some snow/rain showers and maybe some thunder as well.

Since yesterday morning the Bridger Range, Hyalite and Big Sky received 3-7” of new snow, and 1-3” fell elsewhere. Wind has been out of the northwest at 10-20 mph with gusts of 25-40 mph. Temperatures are teens to 20s F. Today, temperatures will reach mid-30s F under clearing skies, and wind will be west-northwest at 10-15 mph with gusts to 25 mph. The next chance for a few inches of snow is during the day tomorrow.

The Bridger Range has 8-19” of new snow since yesterday morning, Hyalite got 7”, Cooke City and Big Sky got 4”, and 1-3” fell near West Yellowstone and Island Park. Temperatures are teens to 20 F. Yesterday wind was west-northwest at 15-25 mph with gusts of 35-50 mph, and overnight wind decreased to 5-15 mph with gusts of 15-30 mph. Today temperatures will reach high 20s to low 30s F with west-northwest wind at 10-25 mph. Snow showers will continue today and tonight. By morning expect 6-10” in the Bridger Range, 3-6” near Big Sky and Cooke City, and 1-2” near West Yellowstone and Island Park.

Temperatures fell below freezing last night for the first time in several days. A dusting to an inch of new snow fell around Bozeman, Big Sky, and Cooke City, with 2-3” around West Yellowstone and Island Park. After blowing hard overnight during the frontal passage, winds are now 5-15 mph out of the west. Winds will pick back up this afternoon. High temperatures will be in the 20s and low 30s F. Snowfall will start this morning in northern areas and spread south during the day. Expect 3-6” to fall by tomorrow morning.

Mountain temperatures this morning are generally above freezing, in the 30s and 40s F. Winds are 15-20 mph with 30-60 mph gusts out of the SW-SE. Breezy southerly winds will continue today. High temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s F, very similar to yesterday’s. The sun may make a brief appearance in places this morning, but it will mostly be cloudy with a good chance for a sprinkle of rain or a dusting of snow today, before more moisture moves in tonight. By tomorrow morning, expect 2-4” of new snow around Island Park and West Yellowstone with a trace-2” elsewhere.

Under mostly cloudy skies mountain temperatures are a few degrees above freezing and winds are from the SW-SE at 15-35 mph. Today is forecasted to become windier and still warm with cloud cover and intermittent sun. Temperatures will rise to the high 40s and low 50s before cooling tonight and a changing weather pattern back to winter(ish).

At 5 a.m. under clear skies the mountains around Bozeman and Big Sky were mostly above freezing while the southern ranges had low temperatures in the upper 20s. Wind is blowing from the W-SW at 10-20 mph in the north and 25-40 mph in the south, which will remain today. Mountain temperatures will reach well into the 50s in the north and 40s in the south. Some clouds late this evening will impede freezing overnight.

Today, under mostly sunny skies, temperatures will reach mid to high 30s F, and wind will be northerly at 5-20 mph. The next couple days will be warmer with daytime temperatures reaching 40s and 50s F before a return to wetter and cooler weather at the end of the week.
