In the final round of the Gasparilla Invitational, I stood on the 18th tee three under par and two shots back of the leader. Out of bounds lined the left side. Water guarded the green. I had a choice.

Play it safe and protect a solid finish. Or take the risk and go for the win.

I chose to go for it. It didn't end with a trophy. It ended with a lesson.

Without risk, there is no reward. And without risk, there is no story worth telling.
