Brennan travelled to Seattle, and recaps what he saw from the Lopes inside the Redhawk Center from a 63-60 win on Saturday. He details just how impressed he was by the team’s ability to win, one player who has stepped up just in time for March, and talks through his one thing he thought played the biggest role in the win. With GCU hosting UTA this Thursday, I just could not stop thinking about the 2024 WAC Title Game. Infamously, Colin Moore took the ball late in the game and did a windmill, an exclamation point as the Lopes punched their ticket. He would get pushed by a Maverick, and another player would throw the ball at him. So I was wondering… What happened to lead to this? I went back and recapped the two regular season games and pointed out moments of contention and how the games played out, which included two big GCU comeback wins. Then I watched the Championship game from front to back, and pointed out any skirmish, shove, and technical foul that may have also lead to the C Mo dunk and reaction. GCU Senior guard Colin Moore provides input at multiple junctures, including a few minutes on what he was thinking leading up to the dunk, and pulling it off in real time.

Brennan hops on to recap a wild game against Cal Baptist, where the Lopes hold on to win 66-64. Then he gets into his usual what he liked and didn’t like from the game, which includes an important perspective on the big run GCU gave up at the end of the game.
