God and Beer- Edition 1- Greg Sheridan (Foreign Editor of 'The Australian' Newspaper)
A new event from the Dandenong North Branch of the Knights of the Southern Cross Victoria to bring together Catholic men and women of all ages from across the south-east suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, several times a year. The aim is to inspire and strengthen Catholics by providing ideas and inspiration for renewal by drawing on the truth, beauty and goodness of the Catholic faith.
Due to lockdown restrictions this event is currently running online.
The inaugural event (held online on Monday October 11, 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions throughout Melbourne) featured Greg Sheridan. Greg Sheridan is an award-winning journalist and Foreign Editor for The Australian, and has interviewed countless world leaders and is the author of multiple books including "God is Good For You" and, most recently, "Christians: The Urgent Case for Jesus in Our World".
The Church in Australia is at a cross-road as it confronts aggressive secularisation, apathy, the ongoing failure of catechesis and evangelisation and a demographic winter. To top it off 2019-2020 has seen even more challenges for the Church. How should Catholics and Church leaders respond?
Future events will hopefully take place in person, at the Notting Hill Hotel.
