Isaiah 6:1-3 describes God in His glory on His throne as "High and lifted up", the phrase “high and lifted up” occurs at two other points in Isaiah’s book. Biblical revelation confirms this trajectory by explicitly applying Isaiah 52 and 53 to Jesus Christ, God the Son. In Isaiah 52, we read that the servant is “high and lifted up” in exaltation, but the next 11 verses are about His suffering and death
Jesus said, "Now is the judgment of this world; now will the ruler of this world be cast out. 32 And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”John 12:31-32. Book of Hebrews -- the writers showed the superiority of Christianity over Judaism. There is NO SAVIOR in Islam, Hinduism, Confucianism, or Buddhism! Greek for "lifted" = (root) hupso-o -- "to elevate." To "lift up" is to "draw attention to," "make obvious," "make visible" in comparison to other objects of faith.
To Jesus the cross brought no sense of degradation or failure, but only a sense of glory and honor and victory. To us, It lifts us up from hell to heaven, from the curse of the broken law to the acceptance of God and the justification, forgiveness and salvation
Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4
in Christ we allways win, "But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere." 2 Corinthians 2:14
We are called to uplift those around us. We should uplift people in CHurch, in our workplace, family and everywhere we have opportunity. Learn how to use the Bible to u[lift others around you.
God has made a multitude of promises to those who follow Him, and we can be encouraged by those promises. Here are a few of my favorites. Wouldn’t it be amazing if life was just as easy? But when things don’t go according to plan … it feels like we’re staring at a million-piece puzzle dumped out without a picture on the box, and with pieces that look like they don’t go together
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 Part of being strong and of a good courage means trusting in the Lord as our true source of strength.
Truly, Jesus is the Lord who encourages those who are discouraged and without any other hope!
One of the most important ways we can love one another the way Jesus instructed us is by encouraging each other.
Barnabas excelled in encouraging others. Joseph means "may God increase"; Joses, "He that pardons"; and Barnabas, "son of encouragement." All three names contain wonderful attributes of God. Barnabas: Son of Encouragement and Consolation. Barnabas is first mentioned as a landowner who sold some land and generously donated all the proceeds to the apostles in Jerusalem. A few years later, God appointed him as an apostle with Paul to the Gentiles (Acts 13:2-3; 14:14). He spent many years preaching the gospel in lands far distant from both Jerusalem and Cyprus
Encourage Yourself With Positive Self talk. Do first person, positive statements to yourself -- repeat these statements to yourself on a regular, ongoing basis. As David sat among the ruins of Ziklag and mutinous men spoke of stoning him, he had a choice. David could allow grief and bitterness to conquer him; he could sink into the black hole of depression and give up and quit. Or he could fight back. David looked around him, he saw nothing but discouraged and downcast men. David had no one to encourage him, so he had only one recourse: He "encouraged himself in the Lord his God".
