Today with Perry and Shawna, we’re almost a year into a pandemic that has rocked our world; a year that of political hostility, of racial wounds as well as our own hardships. Perry and Shawna think that God has been shouting through the pain to awaken us. And we see signs that people are beginning to wake up, but perhaps the greatest of this spiritual awakening is ahead. We have a conversation about how we can prepare now to be part of sharing Jesus’ love in this coming awakening. We get an assist from author, speaker and actress, Priscilla Shirer. Then when people act out in unhealthy ways, like on social media, it’s easy to write them off. Much harder to see their actions as a cry for help and then to love them. Jesus shows us how this is done in his encounter with a guy who stole from the poor. Jesus’ love for Zacchaeus transformed him in one loving encounter. It’s a conversation about loving as we have been loved, seeing as we have been seen. Next, maybe you’ve been going through a long drought. You’re so thirsty. You long for times of refreshing but you’ve nearly lost all hope. It may not seem possible or likely, but God is bringing times of refreshing to you! Another assist form Priscilla. Finally, Perry felt seen yesterday when someone bought him a hot chocolate, and Shawna’s daughter Haven felt seen on a college visit when someone literally said: “Girl, I see you!”
