Today Perry and Shawna look at the many different ways God is speaking. First, from the story of Elijah in 1 Kings 19 we find that God spoke to the prophet in a number of ways, including in a gentle whisper. With this Shawna shares how God encouraged her with a gentle whisper right before a speaking engagement a few weeks ago. And then we find that at the heart of what Jesus is speaking to us is this: I am praying for you: Jesus is reminding that Father that he paid for our sins. He’s praying that our faith won’t fail. He’s praying we will become more like him. And he’s praying that we will be saved forever! And finally Shawna shares about growing up in a softball family and how during a game she would hear her dad’s voice of encouragement breaking through the noise. She knew her dad’s voice because of their close relationship and time spent together. And so it is in our relationship with Jesus, the more we spend time with him, the more familiar his voice becomes. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me (John 10:27-28).”
