In the book of James, James writes

“Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.”

James 5:17 NKJV

Sometimes, we can become discouraged in our prayers. It can feel like we’ve been praying so long for God to move and yet there’s seemingly no response.  

In today’s episode we sit down with our newest addition to the Anchored Team Pastor Gary’s daughter - Rebecca. She shares with us her own personal testimony of endurance through prayer over the last 25 years. 

She reminds us to not give up, but to keep praying because God is faithful and He hears every prayer.

Saturday Feb 15, 2025 - we are hosting a Car Wash Fundraiser at Calvary South OC in San Clemente from 8 AM - 2 PM.  All the proceeds will be going to install new flooring and security fencing for our Feeding Center in Uganda. We are hoping to raise $3,000 for this project.  So come on down and get your car looking sparkly clean for a good cause!

In today's episode we sit down with Pastor Gary for a Bible study in the book of Revelation.  As we look at the church of Smyrna we are encouraged to put our hope in Jesus.  Though we might endure suffering and poverty, those who build their lives on Christ will be spiritually rich.

Jesus said, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." - Matthew 6:19-21

In today’s episode we sit down with Pastor Gary who is back from Uganda to discuss the practical applications of this verse. Even though the Lord allows us to go through suffering, it does not mean He’s abandoned us. In fact, God is faithful to use the suffering we endure to strengthen our faith and draw us closer to Himself.

In John 15:13, Jesus says, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” 

As we celebrate this Veteran’s Day may we take time to remember the men and women who gave their lives so that we could live freely in this great nation.  May we be bold to go out of our way to thank those who are veteran’s or are currently service members for our country.  

In today’s episode, Pastor Gary shares a devotional on what Veteran’s Day means to him, and reminds us of the freedoms we have in Christ because of the ultimate sacrifice He paid for us on the cross through the shedding of His blood. 

As we look to the example of Jesus, we’re reminded to live as He did, putting others before ourselves with humility and love.

In Matthew 9:36-38 it says, 

“When Jesus saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.  He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few.  So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”

In today’s episode Pastor Rajiv from the Anchored Relief team joins us on a call to discuss the work God is doing through the ministry in Nepal.  We’ll go over some details for our upcoming Mission’s Trip to Nepal and how you can be praying for the ministry God is doing out there.
