Choosing life means more than just existing—it means embracing the fullness of God's promises, experiencing His peace, and living with purpose

God's Word consistently reminds us that wisdom is found in self-control and measured responses. When we react out of anger, we often speak words we later regret or make decisions that do not align with God’s righteousness. The more we listen before reacting, the more we allow God’s peace to govern our hearts and minds.

When we allow worry to consume us, we lose sight of the peace God wants us to have. Instead of dwelling on uncertainty about the future or burdening ourselves about events in the past, we follow the simple formula in Philippians 4:6 and claim God’s peace.

Consider Jesus Christ, the son of God, who always did the Father’s will, and who is our perfect example.  During his earthly ministry, he showed us the power of holding fast to God's Word when facing trials and temptations. And he showed us that the Word of God always works to back down the enemy.

Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that we areGod’s workmanship, His masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus with purpose. Long before we ever doubted ourselves, God had already prepared good works for us to walk in. We are not accidents, and the opportunities that come our way are not random. When God calls us to something, He also equips us for it.

Maintaining a merry heart is not about ignoring difficulties but about trusting God’s goodness in every situation. Joy is a tool that keeps us strong and resilient. When we cultivate a joyful heart, we reflect God’s love and peace to those around us.

When we start each day thanking God for His faithfulness, we begin to notice His goodness even more. Thankfulness breeds more thankfulness. It develops a cycle of appreciation that not only strengthens our believing but also attracts more reasons to be grateful. A grateful heart opens the door for more of God's blessings, not because He withholds them until we are thankful, but because a thankful heart is better positioned to recognize and receive them.

God’s desire for every person is salvation and then for each person to come unto a knowledge of the truth.

The key to facing life's challenges isn’t in our own ability, but in meditating on God’s Word and trusting His promises. Just as Joshua leaned on God’s presence and instruction, we too can build the habit of focusing on Scripture and stepping forward in believing, knowing that God is with us.

The promises from Isaiah remind us that God’s Word is faithful.  When all else falls away– God’s Word stands.  He does not delay or forget what He has spoken and His Word always accomplishes the purposes that He intends. Unlike human commitments, which can falter or fail, God's promises remain firm because they are anchored in His perfect will and divine nature.
