We were all set to have a quick little episode on how the Chinese Grand Prix sprint race was exciting but the GP itself was a snoozer. Easy and quick.

And then we woke up to the news that BOTH Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were disqualified, along with Alpine's Pierre Gasly, leading to Williams Racing picking up the same amount of points it managed during all of 2024, plus a bounce-back performance from Haas.

Oh, and Oscar Piastri won the race, not that you would know considering the TV direction focused more on Isack Hadjar and Jack Doohan battling for P14.

Back at the top of the calendar for the first time since 2019, the Australian Grand Prix was packed with chaos from start to finish.

We had a formation lap crash (*and are still crying over the moment between Isack Hadjar and Anthony Hamilton*), a first lap crash, a safety car crash, three more crashes in three camera pans, a wet track, a drying track, a sudden rain storm on track that sent everyone sliding.

It was wild, and everything we could have asked for to open the F1 season we've been waiting for, for literally an entire year.
