She has been called a visionary in the field of medicine as a business, and she has touched the birth world both by attending births herself, and by helping others to offer the best possible birth care for their clients.

We talk about Midwifery as a field and birth as a business of necessity, as well as how the insurance industry complicates a birth provider's ability to be paid properly. We discuss how the reality of birth providers operating in-network, and how the demands and limitations can make birth more dangerous and less personal.
