Coach Niele Ivey is unstoppable. She is the current head coach for the powerhouse Notre Dame Fighting Irish women's basketball team and a former WNBA player for the Indiana Fever, Phoenix Mercury, and Detroit Shock. She just made history as the first Black female coach to win an ACC Championship in any sport! She was named ACC Coach of the Year for leading the Fighting Irish to outstanding victories under her leadership and is a Notre Dame alumna herself. I’m absolutely honored to welcome this history maker to the show!

My guest today, Nico Juber, is an award-winning musical theatre writer. Her songs have been performed at 54 Below and Feinstein’s/Vitello's, among others. She wrote the book, music and lyrics for her musical, Millennials Are Killing Musicals, which is playing off-Broadway May 9-28 at Theatre 71. Listen in to hear all about her and her journey to one of the biggest stages in New York. She is making waves for women in musical theatre, and it was an honor to sit down with her.

My guest today, Ashley Ray, is nothing short of extraordinary. She began with a career in advertising, but she has flourished as a creative. She has now made a name for herself as a stand up comic, writer, and host of her own podcast all about television: TV, I Say with Ashley Ray. You might have seen one of her shows or read her work in Elle magazine. She is truly a master of her craft, and I was enlightened and entertained by our conversation today.

After receiving her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Spelman College and her Master of Science in Couple and Family Therapy from University of Maryland, College Park, she eventually went on to start her own private practice: Therapy is My J. A. M., for Black individuals and couples. A licensed clinical marriage and family therapist, she has made it her mission to provide Black women and men with the tools that they need to become healthier and healed individuals and reduce the stigma of mental health in the Black community. Enterprising. Unique. Thoughtful. Those are just three words to describe broadway actress April Matthis. You might have seen her starring as Toni in off-broadway’s Toni Stone, or as the Narrator in Help, also off-broadway. During her time on the stage, she has created characters that illustrate Black women in the fullness of their humanity. She is currently making her Broadway debut in the role of “Grace” in the Broadway production of August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson.
