In this episode we interview Filipino American DJ, host, MC, and producer, Nico Blitz. Some of you may know him as the DJ from Twitch and Tik Tok as he is a Twitch Partner and streaming DJ. He created and hosts the Lunch Table series on YouTube, is a DJ and Producer for the BootlegKevShow, as well as a host for Myxglobal. He has two podcasts out, @NicoBlitzPodcast and @MexipinoPodcast. In this episode we have a special guest co-hosting. Her name is Shannin and she is an up and coming Filipina DJ in the Bay Area. Shannin and Salena sat down with Nico to discuss everything from the growth of his career in radio, streaming and content creation, to his family, music and DJing, as well as food and culture. We are truly inspired by Nico’s story and we hope this episode brings inspiration to you as well. Enjoy!

After the killing of Asian lives in Atlanta and reading Crying in H-Mart by @jbrekkie , our Kollab crew takes some space to unpack what is on our hearts. What can we learn from the ways we’ve grieved personally to help us better grieve as a more united APIDA community after a long, especially difficult year?We talk about what we’ve found hope in during the pandemic and what food hits home. You’ll also hear new voices of Kollab staff on this episode of Gold & Great!

We’re joined by our friends from Mixed Asian Media Fest to talk about, well, you know - Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, starring this podcast’s very first guest, Simu Liu, plus Kollaboration NY alum Awkwafina, Tony Leung, Michelle Yeoh, and a treasure trove of other Asian actors. We dig into how martial arts has impacted Asian stereotypes, minutiae from the Shang-Chi comics and his racist past, the excitement of watching the film for the first time, the depiction of Asian American culture and SF, and a whole lot more. Virtual karaoke is also addressed, whatever that might be!

This is a special bonus rebroadcast of our debut episode. Next episode will be a chat show with guests with our reactions to watching Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
In our debut episode, we get to talk with actor Simu Liu, who plays Jung on Kim's Convenience. We'll chat with Simu about how the idea of Asian masculinity has affected his experiences as an actor and a role model in the AAPI community. But first, we meet our hosts Long and Elsa! In response to the violent exhibition of racism, xenophobia, and hate crimes towards Asians in America, Kollab SF hosted a #StopAsianHate fishbowl conversation with some of our friends on Twitch (twitch.tv/kollabsf). Moderated by Kollab SF staff Ray Wong and Adrian Chen, we discussed the history as well as our own experiences of anti-Asian sentiment and aggressions in this country. Our guests also go over what actionable next steps you and allies can take to stand up for the APIDA community.
Guests include Andrew Chau (IG: @bobaguys), Minji Chang (IG: @minjeezy), Ashley Judilla (IG: @winteeer_solstice), and Christina Kieu (IG: @christina_kieu).

There’s a lot going on in the world, and Iranian American comedian Zahra Noorbakhsh is here to work through it all with us. Together with Long, they talk about what it means to be Persian in the Asian American community, parallels between anti-Muslim sentiment after 9/11 and anti-Asian racism during COVID, and dealing with it all. By dealing with it, we mean...watching Frasier and imagining what appropriated Persian food tastes like.
