A milk stash doesn't come easy... and if you don't have one that most definitely is not indicative of your breastfeeding success. Chill with us for a quick golden nugget while we encourage you to Just. Keep. Going. Pumping parents are the real MVPs of this breastfeeding jam and this one's for you!
Join us as we speak to our very own GoldiLacts mama Cynthia Jones as she takes us through her journey with D-MER. We define Dysphoric Milk Ejection Reflex, walk with Cynthia as she describes this incredibly challenging and consuming journey, and encourage those of you who may feel lost within the whirlwind of these symptoms. You are not alone!
We can't thank Cynthia enough for being so vulnerable and honest with us during this episode. Nicholas is so very blessed to have such a warrior to call his Mama and we are so blessed to have her as a part of our very own GoldiLacts family!
We had such a great time connecting with our new comadre Gabrielle Ruiz on this episode of 'the Chill. She opens up to us about what it was like going through her first full term pregnancy while living in a pandemic, the shifts she had to make after becoming a mom, and the courage she had to summon to make tough decisions regarding how she would introduce her daughter to the world. She candidly invites us all into her life as a new implant in Los Angeles and what it's been like bridging the gap between successful actor, entertainer, and new mom. She says "God's plans are always more fun than ours"...and we couldn't agree more!
Gabrielle is most widely known for her role as Valencia on the CW show "Crazy ExGirlfriends". She also co-hosts her own podcast called "What are Friends For?" which focuses on the journey through platonic, adult love. You can follow her everywhere at @gabrielleruiz
....ooooooooh yeah.... Partners! How can you support the breastfeeding parent? There are SO MANY ways! In this #goldennugget we provide you with some quick tips on how you can best be of service to the lactating parent in order to ensure they are as comfortable and emotionally sound as possible. This will also help YOU feel useful and empowered as you both support each other while navigating the breastfeeding journey. You are SO important and such a huge part of the breastfeeding relationship with your baby. We got you!
A piggyback to our "Friends" episode (number 9...have you heard it yet?), we are talking about Loyalty here on episode 15 of 'the Chill. We dive deep into what loyalty means to us, the emotional dangers of covert contracts, and how important it is to be crystal clear on the expectations you have of yourself and of your relationships in the postpartum period. You are navigating an entirely different set of needs you didn't even know you had after you have a baby and these expectations need to be voiced so you can decide how these relationships are benefiting you and the needs of your growing family. We all know relationships are hard. Let's talk about ways we can make them easier on ourselves emotionally as we redefine loyalty, expectations of ourselves and others, and examine the importance of forgiveness.

We are stone cold chillin' with one of our faves, Chris Lopez of Boobelife. She is a single madre who gets real with us about her struggles with breastfeeding, her reliance on creative family support, having a partner who struggles with addiction, and her passion for helping underprivileged mamas everywhere. Bottom line? Resources are out there! All we gotta do is ask! Visit her shop at www.shopboobelife.com for the dopest merch and step into your fuego, mami!
When do I start pumping? Why should I pump? How much should I pump? How long should I pump? What kind of pump? Should I pump or hand express? How the heck does this thing work? All. Things. Pumping. 'Nuff said.
We are with the inspirational Mrs. Tia Regular, founder of the up-and-coming lifestyle brand M I L K P I M P. A rockstar mommy of FIVE, Tia talks to us about becoming a young first-time mom and hearing about all the reasons she should NOT breastfeed. After receiving support from her family and more education about breastfeeding through government funded programs (shout out to WIC and the Mother to Mother program!), she was able to create an abundant milk supply for her first baby after nearly three weeks of formula feeding! Tia gets real about her passion for helping breastfeeding mothers everywhere to feel seen, supported, and secure through the use of affirmation and manifestation. This chick is a whole vibe, ya'll, and we cannot wait to share her with you!!

We are chillin' with the very pregnant Maggie Sullivan, IBCLC, turmeric & ginger junkie, and creator of Wholistic Postpartum. A former medical doctor in the traditional allopathic community, Maggie talks about how her first postpartum journey threw her for a complete loop. She decided she would leave the hospital and become the support she needed. She has created a company where she serves the "whole woman"; supporting birthing parents through prenatal and postpartum education, breastfeeding services, and personal nutrition counseling. Learn about some super cool natural remedies for treating depression, anxiety, and breastfeeding issues, too! There is so much happening with our bodies that a 15 minute perinatal visit with our OBGYN could never fully cover. Maggie's mission is to fill in those gaps and provide every new parent a safe space to ask the question "WHAT IS HAPPENING TO MY LIFE??"
You can find Maggie on Instagram at @wholisticpostpartum as well as www.wholisticpostpartum.com for prenatal, postpartum, and breastfeeding services.
