Twas the night before new edition and all through the hobbit hole

Not a create was stirring not even SmegOl

The rulebooks were hung by the chimney with care

In hope that soon Jay Clare would be there

The gamers were tucked all snug in their beds,

While visions of shiny new models danced in there heads

And Ben in his kerchief and Sam in his cap

Had just settled our brains after a long strategy battle game chat

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,They sprang from their beds to see what was the matter.

Away to the window they flew like a flash,Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.The moon on the breast of the modeling snowGave the luster of plastic to the new minis all set up below.

When what to their wondering eyes did appear,But the battle of Edoras, it's the release drawing near!With a rulebook so crisp, and terrain so fine,They knew in a moment it must be divine

More rapid than eagles, the rules writers they came,And they whistled, and shouted, and called out some names:"Now Aragorn! Now Legolas! Now Gimli and Boromir!On Frodo! On Samwise! On Gandalf so dear!

Return to your posts, atop the walls. Now defend the white city men of Minas Tirith all!

And then, in a twinkling, they heard on the roofThe prancing and pawing of each tiny plastic hoof.

As they drew in their heads and turned back around,Down the chimney Jay Clare came with a bound.

He was clad all in green, like a Ranger of old,

And he bore a new starter set, a treasure to behold!.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his task,

Placing the new rules in Ben and Sam's eager grasp. Then laying his finger aside of his nose,And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose.

But they heard him exclaim, ere he disappeared out of sight,

"Happy gaming to all, these new rules they’re a delight!"
