  • We Will Now Extend the Invitation
Most churches show a high degree of evangelism within the four walls of their meeting place. This is evidenced by the fact that almost every meeting that takes place ends with “the invitation.” Typically composed of brief remarks that are often emotional and a Bible passage or two, these efforts call for a spiritual response. This sermon contains a discussion of this tradition.

In 1 John, we read that the "the commandments of God are not grievous," yet there are many who might disagree with that statement. This sermon examines what might make us think God's commandments are grievous and what that might say about us.

  • "That Sounds Denominational!"
Words have meaning, but sometimes we use words and phrases which are confusing to others. One of these phrases is sometimes spoken by Christians when confronted with an idea that collides with their held beliefs. When such occasions occur, it may be that a Christian exclaims, “That Sounds Denominational!” What, though, does this mean, and does it really make sense? This sermon explores the sentiment behind this phrase, the meaning of denominationalism, and what standard must be used in finding the truth.

  • When I Need Revival
Whether it is remembering events from 20 years ago when the U.S. came under attack or thinking of unrest that has occurred in the past three weeks, fear can come into the heart. Compounding this with the pandemic, quarantine, and resurgence of sickness can create even stronger feelings of unease. Christians are not immune to this problem. Because of this, it is important to meet the problem head-on with a renewed effort to “know the peace that surpasses understanding.” Simple in format, this study will remind the people of God of basic thoughts that should always be present to combat those feelings that can destroy faith.

  • Especially Those of the Household of Faith
Happy households occur when each member of the family recognizes his or her role and works to support others in the household. This is not only true of earthly families but also true of God’s family. In writing to the Galatians, the apostle Paul admonished them “to do good to everyone;” however, he also added, “Especially those of the household of faith.” This command, along with other New Testament thoughts on God’s household, helps to understand what is expected in His family. This study will not only discuss the responsibilities of fellow Christians but also discuss their relationship to the Father.

If you have not listened to last week's sermon, you may want to listen to it also as this sermon is a companion to it.

  • There’s Danger and Death in Delay
Dirty garages and half-completed jobs can often testify to procrastination. When things can be loaned to tomorrow, the present is freed for something more enjoyable. While procrastination with daily chores can be a nuisance, spiritual procrastination is an eternal danger. Why would one put off a relationship with God until tomorrow when His blessings can be enjoyed today?

  • Keeping Our Head
With schools back in session, young Christians may find themselves tested on a daily basis in their loyalty to Christ. It is important that these struggles be taken seriously, with older Christians proactively helping to equip young people with biblical principles that will aid in maintaining faith. In this study taken primarily from Ephesians 4, encouragement is given to help younger Christians stay faithful while also reminding older Christians that the same principles are important no matter the stage in life.
