Good Boys Gone Bland

Houston, we have a problem: They made a movie where the moon falls out of the sky because its secretly a hollow megastructure built by ancient humans. The GBGBs reviewed MOONFALL this week as third episode in our "Bunker" season, where we watch and review 10 apocalypse movies. This movie stars our old friend Patrick Wilson as well as Halle Berry and John Bradley as they race to stop the moon from smashing into earth. Is there more you need to know about this movie? Probably not. Should you see this movie to find out? Also probably not. The boys also continue their ill-advised audio improv segment using audience submitted suggestions.

Episode 2 of The Bunker is here, and the boys are already taking on a sci-fi classic: The Fifth Element (1997). This time around, the world-ending scenario is an ancient evil space ball that wants to eradicate all life in the universe. It's up to Corbin Dallas (Bruce Willis) to find the 4 elemental stones and combine them with a higher being named Leeloo (Mila Jovovich) so a super sweet space laser can prevent the apocalypse. This movie is a wild trip, but the boys may have hot takes about what they actually think about the film. So strap in, bring your Multipass, and get ready for The GBGBs Fifth Element Review!

The GBGBs have chosen their new season, "THE BUNKER", a 10-movie marathon of Apocalypse movies! We are kicking off the season by reviewing The Core (2003). This wacky disaster movie features Aaron Eckhart and Hilary Swank as a part of an all-star team of experts who are trying to revive the Earth's slowing core. This movie has everything: laserbeams, whales, mega-geodes, nukes, and 6 dysfunctional people crammed in a log-shaped drill rig burrowing to the center of the Earth. In a poll of hundreds of scientists, this movie was also voted as the worst in terms of scientific accuracy. It also contains the first use of the word "unobtainium" in popular media. How 'bout that!

IT'S TIME. The great GBGB council has reconvened for the 6th State of the Podcast Special! As per tradition, the boys will debrief on the Anne Hathaway marathon and discuss the highs and lows of the season. Then the great Wheel of Chaos (TM) is consulted as the boys decide the theme for SEASON 7.  Will we finally get our Fast and Furious Season? Will Ryan finally have one of his pitches chosen after 7 seasons? Find out now in State of the Podcast 6!

The GBGBs are back with the final installment of The Annestitution! This week they watched Passengers (2008). No, not that Passengers, this is the Passengers with Anne Hathaway and Patrick Wilson. Anne plays a psychiatrist who is counseling a group of plane crash survivors when things get twisted. One of her patients is like super off his gourd about being a cool sleazy guy while the other ones are remembering the plane wrong! This movie is messed up man. There's like a ghost dog and a 20 min rom-com in the middle of the movie. Oh, and by the way, this is going to be a SPOILER-FULL episode folks. But you can just go ahead and listen to it because the movie is like $3.99 on amazon and we can't in all good conscience encourage you to make that purchase.

The boys managed to get together with their busy fall schedules to do a "hustle" episode about 2019's "The Hustle"! This heist buddy-comedy features Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson as professional grifters who compete to con a tech millionaire. There's goofs, there's laughs, and there's some questionable decisions. This is also apparently a remake of Steve Martin's 1988 movie Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, which was a remake of Marlon Brando's 1964 movie The Bedtime Story. If you already knew this then you're a NERD who should go back to LETTERBOXD.

Okay guys remember when we said Colossal was one of the wildest movies of the season? Just forget we even said that, this movie is absolutely underpants-on-your-head wild. Anyways, we know we said we'd be doing Hoodwinked this week, but its completely out of print. So we had to do a GBGBs Emergency Pivot (TM) to this crazy movie. We hope you'll stick around and listen to the episode because we think it's a fun ride.

Serenity (2019), not to be confused with the pretty decent 2005 Serenity movie starring Nathan Fillion, stars Anne Hathaway as the mysterious ex-wife of Matthew McConnaughey's character. The McCon man has a boat, wants to catch a fish, and is tasked with whacking Hathaway's current husband while on a fishing trip. If we say any more, we'll spoil the whole movie. But let's just say the plot takes QUITE a turn. Seriously, we'll give 5 GBGB bucks to anyone who can guess the plot trajectory before seeing this film. (Disclaimer: GBGB bucks only redeemable at select GBGB podcast retailers).

After the great GBGB Summer Break, THE GBGBs ARE BACK (With special return guest, Joe, from Comics Coda) to review The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. This episode was recorded just before the Great GBGB Summer Break (GGBGBSB), but it's good to be back in the Annestitution to finish out our Anne Hathaway season!

This follow-up to an iconic classic finds our old friend Mia Thermopolis in a royal pickle: find a suitor to marry in less than a month, or lose her claim as the head of Genovia. In addition to the returning cast from the first film, we also see Chris Pine in his first ever feature film role (???)

The GBGBs also discuss the in-universe rules of the Princess Diaries franchise and force Joe into a classic GBGBs improv comedy session.

ATTENTION GEEBSTERS - The boyz are back in town! Jace, Ryan, and Denali have returned from their court ordered vacations to bring new GBGB content into the fold. It's been a long while since the #3podkings have been back in the studio, so we thought we'd do a special episode where we talk about what we've been up to this past while!

Discussion topics: Sheep-dung whiskey, a late night ferry murder-mystery pitch, M. Night Shyamalan movies, and the woes of becoming a bicyclist.

What's up GBGB Nation?! Your good boys Ryan and Denali watched the new Predator movie, Prey, and wanted to drop in for a quick review. This movie takes our old clicky alien friend and drops them right into The Great Plains in 1719. Amber Midthunder plays the skilled Comanche warrior, Naru, who faces off against the Predator in this very tight action flick. So fire up your Hulus (or whatever you use) and join us for the review! Or just join us, you probably already know what's going to happen in a Predator movie....
